Zenroren Hall Opens

A new building which houses major progressive organizations has been completed in Tokyo.

The National Confederation of Trade Unions (Zenroren), the Japan Council against A and H Bombs (Gensuikyo), and other organizations have opened their national offices in the nine-story building called the "Peace and Labor Center-Zenroren Hall."

On May 31, about 500 people representing various organizations attended a reception to celebrate the opening.

Speaking as the chairman of the Hall's board of directors, Kobayashi Yoji, Zenroren president, expressed hope that the hall will serve as a new center for the movement to create a new Japan.

Ichida Tadayoshi, Japanese Communist Party Secretariat head, made a speech. (end)
