Japan Gensuikyo calls on government to tell people truth of secret agreement
on U.S. nuclear weapons

Following a revelation by Akahata of a U.S. declassified document showing
suspicions about U.S. nuclear weapons being unloaded in Japan, the Japan
Council against A and H Bombs (Japan Gensuikyo) on September 3 demanded that
the government make public everything about secret agreements with the U.S.
regarding the introduction of nuclear weapons.

The statement said:
"It has become known that Japan and the United States in secret
agreements have given the United States a free hand to have nuclear-capable
U.S. warships visit Japanese ports. The latest Akahata report confirms that
those secret agreements provided for nuclear weapons to be unloaded in
Japan.

Gensuikyo has consistently demanded that the government strictly observe
the three Non-nuclear Principles (not to possess, manufacture or allow
nuclear weapons to be brought into Japan).

We reiterate our demand that the government reject the entry of ships
that refuse to state whether they carry nuclear weapons or not, that
Japan-U.S. secret agreements on nuclear weapons be made public and
abrogated, and that the Three Non-nuclear Principles be strictly observed."
