Foreign guests to Akahata Festival

Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo and
Executive Committee Chair Shii Kazuo met with international guests to the
Akahata Festival at the festival site on November 2 and 3.

On November 2, Fuwa met with Thu Thanh, deputy editor-in-chief of Nhan
Dan, the Communist Party of Vietnam' organ paper. Vietnam's Doi Moi
(renovation) policy was one of the topics discussed.

Fuwa also met with General Association of Korean Residents in Japan
(Chongryun) Vice Chairman Nam Sung U and its International Affairs Bureau
Director Han Jong-chi.

Shii met with Zhang Heng and Jiang Yuechun, first secretaries of the
Chinese Embassy and Thu Thanh of the CPV's Nhan Dan.

On November 3, Fuwa received Roberto Antonaz, International Commission
chair of the Italian Party of Communist Refoundation. Fuwa said that the JCP
had the idea of holding the Akahata Festival after the JCP was invited to
the Unfit Festival of the former Italian Communist Party.

Fuwa also met Cuban Ambassador to Japan Earnest Backs, Vietnamese
Ambassador to Japan Va Dung, and First Secretary Thence Hens of the
Singapore Embassy.

In a meeting with Guam Keeling, Tokyo correspondent of Remain Ribbon, the
Communist Party of China organ paper, Fuwa thanked him for cutting his
vacation short in order to visit the Akahata Festival. (end)
