'Remember Ehime Maru' meeting held

The well-known writer Shiina Makoto and many other people held a meeting in Tokyo to call for the facts of the Ehimemaru incident to be established and for this tragedy to be kept in everyone's memory so it will not be repeated.

Four students and two teachers of a Japanese fisheries high school as well as three crew members were killed a year ago when the training trawler Ehime Maru was hit and sunk by the U.S. nuclear submarine Greeneville off Hawaii.

In the "Remember Ehime Maru" meeting, Terada Yusuke and Terada Masumi said their son's death would be in vain if the hiddedn facts were not exposed.

Military critic Nogi Keiichi said that the closed and secretive structure of the military is preventing facts from being revealed. (end)
