Fuwa talks with CPV delegation

Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo received a Communist Party of Vietnam delegation, headed by Tran Dinh Hoan, CPV Politburo and Secretariat member, on March 25 at the JCP head office.

Answering Hoan's questions about Japan's economy and politics and JCP activities, Fuwa explained the present economic situation, Koizumi Cabinet policies, and JCP efforts to pull the economy out of its slump and improve people's living conditions.

Hoan said that 30,000 small- and medium-sized businesses have been established in Vietnam in the last two years, providing jobs to 1.4 million people.

Fuwa said, "It's important in any country to develop sectors closely connected with people's life. I am very happy to hear that you have made a success in pushing ahead with the Doi Moi policy."

Fuwa and Hoan exchanged opinions about party buildup and the prospect of socialism for the 21st century, and confirmed that the two parties have a common objective to establish a better society. They exchanged wishes with each other for the development of the two parties.

Those present at the talks were Hamano Tadao, JCP Executive Committee vice-chair; Ogata Yasuo, JCP International Bureau director and House of Councilors member; Vu Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan; and Vu Van Hien, CPV's Communist Magazine editor-in-chief. (end)
