JCP Fuwa to visit China

Fuwa Tetsuzo, Japanese Communist Party Central Committee chair, will visit China from August 26-30 at the invitation of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Akahata reported on August 16 that Fuwa will hold talks with the CPC leadership to discuss issues facing Japan, China, and the rest of the world.

Fuwa will also give a lecture on "Lenin and the market economy" at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and exchange views on various scientific and theoretical problems.

Fuwa's previous visit to China was four years ago, in July 1998, following the normalization of JCP-CPC relations.

Fuwa will be accompanied by Fudesaka Hideyo, JCP Standing Executive Committee member, acting Secretariat head, Policy Commission chair, and House of Councilors member; Ogata Yasuo,Standing Executive Committee member, International Bureau director, and House of Councilors member; and Shoji Shojiro, Executive Committee member and Akahata Editorial Board deputy head.
