Outgoing Cuban ambassador bids farewell at JCP head office

Cuban Ambassador to Japan Ernesto Melendez, who will be leaving Japan after a 6-year tenure in Tokyo visited the Japanese Communist Party head office on October 17 to bid farewell and met with JCP Vice Chair Ueda Koichiro.

Ueda, who recently visited Cuba, offered the ambassador words of appreciation and thanked him for his help in arranging the JCP delegation's visit to Cuba. He also expressed hope that bilateral exchanges will be further developed between the JCP and the Communist Party of Cuba.

Ambassador Melendez stated that he was pleased to hear that Ueda's Cuba visit had been successful, and to see bilateral exchanges making progress between the two parties. (end)
