Japan Religious Council for Peace celebrates its 40th anniversary

The Japan Religious Council for Peace on October 28 held its 40th anniversary celebration in Tokyo, attended by representatives of various religion, peace, and democratic organizations.

Ichida Tadayoshi, Japanese Communist Party Secretariat head, praised the council for its contribution to developing a broader cooperation in the struggle against the wartime legislation. He said, "The JCP is proud to have been cooperatively working with the council."

Miyagi Tainen, Japan Religious Council Representative Committee member, stated that the council hopes to put the 40-year experiences to good account.

The council held an annual meeting before the celebration and discussed the importance of solidarity with citizens in the struggle to protect human dignity and peace. (end)
