18,000 attend 'World Peace Now' march

About 18,000 people on April 5 assembled in Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo to take part in the "World Peace Now" rally, and marched in demonstration calling for a swift halt to the Iraq war.

In a 3-kilometer march through the bustling streets of Shibuya, many groups of young people singing anti-war songs stood out among the marchers.
A group of five high school students said they learned of the World Peace Now on the Internet and said, "Why did we join this event? Because someone is being killed at this moment for nothing. Isn't that enough?" (end)
