JCP vice chair receives Cuban trade union leader

Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ueda Koichiro received Pedro Ross Leal, General Secretary of the CTC (Cuban Trade Union) and Communist Party of Cuba Political Bureau member, at the JCP head office on April 5.

Almost six months after their first meeting in Havana last October, Ueda and Ross informed each other of the domestic situation in Japan and Cuba and exchanged views on international questions, and in particular condemned the U.S.-led Iraq war.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of further increasing exchanges between the JCP and the CPC and between the Japanese and Cuban peoples. (end)
