More public figures' support expressed for JCP candidate for Tokyo governor

The number of public figures supporting JCP candidate Wakabayashi Yoshiharu has increased to 520 as of April 2. The election was to be held on Sunday, April 13.

The appeal was initially issued on March 24 by 14 public figures with 417 persons supporting.

The increase indicates that many people place high expectations on Wakabayashi Yoshiharu instead of wishing Govenor Ishihara Shintaro, who supports the Iraq war and denies the constitution and human rights, to be reelected.

Some new messages are given below:

"I'd like to replace Ishihara, who tries to trample upon the constitution and advocates war, with Wakabayashi who wants to set up a government to defend peace and human rights" (university professor).

"Mankind stands at the crossroads. It is outrageous of Ishihara to try to resolve problems by force" (composer). (end)
