A JCP candidate defeats an LDP-Komei candidate in Osaka's single-seat constituency

In the Osaka City Assembly election on April 13, a Japanese Communist Party candidate defeated a candidate who was jointly supported by three major parties, including the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, in a single-seat constituency.

Just before the start of the official campaign period, the Liberal Democratic, Komei, and Democratic parties in Osaka's Taisho Ward hastily agreed to put up their common candidate. This clearly was a strategic alliance to prevent JCP candidate Kotani Misuzu from being elected. During the campaign, the Komei Party made frantic efforts to spread anti-communist lies.

JCP candidate Kotani, joined by many supporters, consistently reached out to voters and informed them of the JCP's achievements and policies calling for the need to end policies that place emphasis on large development projects and instead implement resident-friendly policies. (end)
