JCP prefectural committee chairpersons meet for its advance in general election

With the dissolution of the House of Representatives likely on October 10 followed by a general election on November 9, the JCP held a meeting of prefectural committee chairpersons on October 4 at its head office in order to ensure a JCP victory in the election.

JCP Chair Shii Kazuo made a report followed by Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo's speech.

Shii stated, "The schedule for the dissolution of the House of Representatives for a general election has become definite. The JCP 23rd Congress will be postponed. The Congress will be formally rescheduled by the 9th Central Committee Plenum the day after the Lower House dissolution."

His speech focused on JCP efforts for debates on policies and key elements of JCP election campaigns.

Shii called for a drastic increase in party activities that need to be done by the time the 9th CC Plenum is held on October 11, including street actions, putting up many posters, getting support from Akahata readers, and reaching out to millions of voters. (end)
