JCP Congress rescheduled for January 13

The Japanese Communist Party has postponed its 23rd Congress scheduled for November due to the snap general election announced for the House of Representatives.

The JCP Central Committee (22nd Congress) held its 9th Plenum on October 11 following the dissolution of the House of Representatives and decided to hold the JCP 23rd Congress from January 13, 2004.

The CC Plenum also decided to suspend the open discussion of the Resolution of the JCP 23rd Congress (draft) until after the November 9 election. (end)
