Japanese diplomats killed, JCP issues comment

In a published statement on the killing of two Japanese diplomats in Iraq, Ichida Tadayoshi, Japanese Communist Party Secretariat head, expressed respects to the two victims and deep condolences to their family members and all other people concerned.

Ichida stated, "Although how this tragic incident occurred is still unknown at this time, we must not condone any acts of violence by any forces. This incident is a clear testimony to the ever worsening Iraqi situation in which Japan should forgo sending the Self-Defense Forces to Iraq." (end)
