Shadow fixer between Soka Gakkai and LDP is former wiretapper of JCP leader

Akahata of March 1st reported that Takeoka Seiji, who was arrested on a charge of using stolen customer data to extort Internet service provider Yahoo! BB, is a liaison between the Komei Party and its parent organization Soka Gakkai and the Liberal Democratic Party.

Taking advantage of his position as a senior Soka Gakkai official and adviser to an advertising agency, Takeoka used his influence to arrange the Komei Party's electoral cooperation with its coalition partner LDP, bought tickets for LDP fund-raisers, and introduced LDP Dietmembers to Soka Gakkai leaders.

An LDP Dietmember's secretary said, "Takeoka has direct connections with the Soka Gakkai head office."

The ad agency conducts opinion polls for the LDP in national elections. A survey by a private investigation agency said that the ad agency sharply increased sales after it began to work for the LDP in the late 1990s.

Takeoka has also helped LDP factions sell fund-raiser tickets. Those tickets have actually been bought by pro-Soka Gakkai companies. At a function held in June 2002 for the LDP Hashimoto faction, with which Takeoka has close ties, he sold 30 20,000-yen tickets.

Takeoka was a major culprit in a group that in 1970 tapped the telephone of the home of Miyamoto Kenji, JCP chair at the time. Nine years later, he was promoted to vice director of the youth division of the Soka Gakkai head office. He retired from the Soka Gakkai daily Seikyo Shimbun in November 1999. (end)
