Nagano Prefecture promises to make every effort to help restructured workers find new jobs

This was in answer to Japanese Communist Party representative Takamura Kyoko in the prefectural assembly meeting on March 12 concerning the prefecture's response to a company's plant closing that would displace 230 workers.

The prefectural bureau director said that the prefectural office will be involved in the issue from the stage in which workers have to choose between transfers and retirement. The official promised that the prefectural office will look after the livelihood of those restructured and ensure that they can receive job training at public expense in preparation for future employment.

He also said that the prefecture will apply this positive approach to other cases of restructuring in the future. (end)
