Japanese and Chinese women's organizations meet in Beijing

New Japan Women's Association (NJWA) President Takada Kimiko held talks with All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Vice President Zhao Shaohua on April 27 in Beijing.

Takada, who led a five-member NJWA delegation visiting China, explained the issues of peace, living conditions, and women's rights in Japan, as well as activities of her organization to defend them. She also spoke about NJWA members' creative actions in opposition to the Iraq war and the dispatch of the Self-Defense Forces to Iraq.

Zhao stated, "We express our respect for the NJWA's clear position. Let us firmly defend the banner of anti-war in cooperation with the world's women."
