JCP Ogata meets with Chinese researchers

Japanese Communist Party International Bureau Director Ogata Yasuo on July 13 received three researchers from the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

They discussed Japan-China relations, the situation in Northeast Asia, the Six-Party Talks on North Korea, and mutual cooperation to deal with problems in the Asia-Pacific region, including the question of Taiwan.

Fuwa attends French Revolution reception

Fuwa Tetsuzo, Japanese Communist Party Central Committee chair, on July 14 attended a reception in commemoration of the French Revolution held at the French ambassador's official residence in Tokyo and talked with Ambassador Bernard Montferrand and other diplomats.

Fuwa attends Egypt National Day reception

Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo on July 15 attended Egypt's National Day (Jul. 23) reception given by Egyptian Ambassador to Japan Hisham Badr.

Recalling their first meeting in February at JCP headquarters, the JCP CC Chair and the Egyptian ambassador discussed the issue of Middle East peace.

Fuwa also had conversations with many ambassadors and other diplomats attending the reception.

JCP International Bureau head meets with Slovakian ambassador

Japanese Communist Party International Bureau Director Nishiguchi Hikaru on July 15 visited Slovakian Ambassador Julius Hauser at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Tokyo.

Nishiguchi explained the results of the recent Upper House election and JCP activities and history. He also briefed the ambassador on the characteristics of the JCP's diplomacy and its view on the former Soviet Union. (end)
