Entire town assembly participates in founding local 'Article 9 Association'
A local "Article 9 Association" was founded in the Nagano Prefectural town of Shinano (with a population of 10,500) in central Japan with the participation of all of the 17 town assembly members, including two from the Japanese Communist Party.
This was in response to the call from the "Association for Collecting Signatures from Majority of Nagano Prefecture Residents in Defense of Article 9." The main promoters are 113 persons, including the town's agricultural committee members, block heads, labor union leaders, and chief priests of Buddhist temples. (end)
