U.S. military truck crashes during training on Okinawan highway

On August 23 in Okinawa, a large U.S. military truck crashed into a civilian car during its training on the Okinawa Expressway.

Four U.S. Marine Corps trucks were reportedly conducting training on that day on the expressway between the Naha and Kyoda interchanges.

When the military truck was trying to make a U-turn after passing through a tollbooth, it crashed into a civilian car. Although no one was injured, pieces of broken glass were scattered and interrupted traffic flow.

Japanese Communist Party Okinawa Prefectural Committee representatives visited the Foreign Ministry's Okinawa Office on the next day and demanded that the Japanese government urge the U.S. forces in Okinawa to immediately halt the training.
