Okinawa legislature demands halt to U.S. F-15 flights The Okinawa Prefectural Assembly on January 30 adopted a unanimous resolution calling for U.S. F-15 flights to be canceled, in protest against a crash of an F-15 fighter from the U.S. Kadena Air Base in the sea east of Okinawa's main island on January 17. It demanded that U.S. forces halt F-15 flights until they complete investigation into the cause of the accident and take safety measures to prevent similar accidents. - Akahata, January 31, 2006 |
