JCP Ichida: Nagata and Maehara must be held responsible

Asked by reporters to comment on the action taken by the Democratic Party of Japan on March 1 regarding the false e-mail message its representative used in his Diet questions, Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi on the same day said that DPJ House of Representatives member Nagata Hisayasu and DPJ President Maehara Seiji must accept responsibility.

Ichida said that Nagata must be held responsible for his line of questioning in the Diet without establishing the document's authenticity, and that Maehara must take responsibility for publicly stating that the document is reliable.

Asked about the motion of disciplinary measures against Nagata, Ichida said that a punitive motion in the Diet against him is justifiable.
