Fuwa and Wang Jiarui, CPC CC International Department head welcome success of theoretical exchange meeting

Fuwa Tetsuzo, the director of the Japanese Communist Party Social Sciences Institute, on May 26 held talks in Beijing with Wang Jiarui, head of the Communist Party of China Central Committee International Department, to discuss the result of the second round of the JCP-CPC theoretical exchange and the exchange of views on the international situation.

Pleased by the success of the theoretical exchange meeting, Wang said, "(We) exchanged successfully our opinions on common concerns and were enlightened by the exchange meeting. I hope that exchanges between our two parties will continue."

Fuwa said that he had spent meaningful time throughout the scheduled meetings, and that the theoretical exchange conducted since last year, being the first experience for both parties to conduct exchanges based on a common theoretical basis and the view of the world, is of significance.

Wang, who just returned from his tour of Europe, talked about Europe and the situation of political parties in each country. Fuwa spoke of his impression that the situation in Europe is complicated and it reflects not only circumstances in each country but also their views of the world situation. Pointing out that since the beginning of the 21st century considerable changes have taken place in each country in the world, he emphasized that whether to consider each change as positive or as negative is a very important question. He analyzed that breaking away from the framework of the U.S.-Soviet confrontation due to the collapse of the Soviet Union may be reflected in the lively moves today.

On the same day, Fuwa visited the CPC Central Party School in Beijing to have an exchange with the faculty in charge of Marxism and theory on party building.
