JCP will hold theoretical exchange meetings with Chinese academy

The Japanese Communist Party will hold theoretical exchange meetings with a delegation of the Marxism Academy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences that was to visit Japan on October 10 at the invitation of the JCP.

The Chinese Marxism Academy delegation will consist of Vice Director Hou Huiqin (Head), Vice Secretary and Deputy Director Zhuang Qiansheng, and Assistant Research Fellow Zheng Ping. The JCP delegation will be headed by JCP Social Science Institute Director Fuwa Tetsuzo (JCP Standing Executive Committee member).

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is a Chinese governmental organization that includes many institutes covering all fields of the social sciences.

The academy used to have an institute called the Institute of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought. Attaching importance to the study of Marxism, the Chinese government reorganized the institute as the Marxism Academy late last year, providing it with a central role in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In May this year, the Marxism Academy organized in Beijing a meeting in which Fuwa gave a lecture entitled "Marxism and the 21st Century World." At that time, Fuwa spoke with Marxism Academy Director Leng Rong about future theoretical exchanges, and this conversation has brought about the visit of the academy delegation.

Fuwa's lecture was carried in the September issue of the Marxism Academy's monthly magazine "Studies on Marxism".
