Shii attends dinner welcoming Vietnamese prime minister

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on October 19 attended a dinner party welcoming Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung held by Prime Minister Abe Shinzo at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.

Shii expressed to Prime Minister Dung his hope that the Vietnamese "Doi Moi (renovation)" policy line will achieve further success. In reply, the prime minister expressed his gratitude.

On October 20, JCP Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi exchanged greetings with the prime minister at a reception hosted by Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Chu Tuan Cap.

Ichida said that he hopes for a further development of the friendly relationship between Japan and Vietnam. The prime minister asked Ichida to convey his best regards to the JCP leadership and its members.
