Ichida meets with Cuban ambassador at Akahata Festival site

Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi met with Cuban Ambassador to Japan Orlando Hernandez at the Akahata Festival site on November 5.

As the Akahata Festival was held for the first time in four years, the ambassador said, "It is nice to be able to visit this festival while I am staying in Japan." Looking at so many people taking part in the festival, Hernandez said, "I feel the great impact that the JCP exerts socially and politically."

Ichida said, "This is one of Japan's largest festivals and a political and cultural gathering in which well-known artists also appear." Ichida also said that he is pleased at the success of the summit conference of the Non-Aligned Movement held recently in Havana.

Hernandez in reply said that the success of the summit conference was a shared victory.
