JCP Chair Shii dines with Pakistani ambassador

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on November 21 had lunch with Pakistani Ambassador Kamran Niaz in Tokyo at the invitation of the ambassador.

Niaz congratulated Shii on the success of his visit to Pakistan last September, saying that it was beneficial to the development of relations between Pakistan and Japan.

Shii said that the JCP delegation had received a hearty welcome in Pakistan and expressed gratitude to the ambassador for his arrangements in support of the delegation.

They exchanged opinions regarding relations between the two nations and peace in Asia. They agreed to maintain close relations between the JCP and the Pakistani government in order to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

JCP Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo, Policy Commission Chair Koike Akira, and other members of the delegation to Pakistan also attended.
