JCP Chair sends congratulatory message to East Timor President-elect Ramos-Horta

   Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on May 14 sent a congratulatory message to East Timor President-elect Jose Ramos-Horta on the occasion of his election as president. The text of the message is as follows:

   Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on assuming office of the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

   I sincerely hope that you will advance reconstruction of your country in response to the mandate as expressed by the popular vote, including restoration of security, national reconciliation and improvement of the people’s living conditions, and contribute to peace and development in Asia.
