Shii meets with Lao Ambassador

   Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on August 24 met with Lao Ambassador to Japan Sithong Chitnhothinh at the JCP head office.

   The ambassador, who had met Shii in February shortly after his arrival in Japan, conveyed greetings from Lao President and Lao People’s Revolutionary Party General Secretary Choummaly Sayasone.

   Shii expressed his thanks for a heartfelt message that the Lao president sent to this year’s World Conference against A & H Bombs and asked Sithong to convey his message to the president.

   Sithong and Shii exchanged views on strengthening relations between the two parties.

   Shii also explained Japan’s political situation after the recent House of Councilors election. Sithong spoke about the process of nation-building in Laos.

   JCP Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo attended the meeting.
