In a published statement on the election of Barack Obama as the next U.S. president, Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo said, gThe JCP will do its utmost to end Japanfs extraordinary subservience to the U.S. and establish an equal relationship between Japan and the United States along a path of neutrality and nonalignment. This is the position from which we will pay close attention to what the next U.S. administration, led by President Obama, will do in its policy towards Japan.h
