JCP Kokuta talks with junior high and high school students

Japanese Communist Party House of Representatives member Kokuta Keiji on February 20 talked with junior high and high school students in Nagoya City about the JCPfs position as an opposition party constructively engaging with the new government.

This was part of the gSaturday Program,h a series of lectures open to the public organized by students of Tokai Junior High and High School.

Asked by a high school student if he thinks the direction of politics has changed since the new government was formed, Kokuta answered that it has become possible for citizens to change the direction of politics by raising their voices and that the JCP is striving to further develop this positive change.

He went on to explain various problems facing the Hatoyama Cabinet, including its failure to negotiate with the U.S. government for removal of the Futenma base in Okinawa and the plutocratic scandals involving its senior members.

Kokuta stressed that the JCP will continue to work to create an economy governed by rules in order to realize citizensf demands.
