A party without policy discussion body: DPJfs fundamental problem
The DPJ dissolved inner-party bodies for its members to discuss policies. It instead established a ministerial policy meeting scheme hosted by a vice minister to ghearh party membersf opinions on policies. However, complaints and concerns have been expressed within the party over the new system allowing only elite members to take part in policymaking processes.

Residents near N-power plants fear tsunami-hit cooling water failures
When the Chile quake-induced tsunami came to Japan, fear of residents living near nuclear power plants increased because a failure of cooling water intake at the time of a tsunami can lead to serious accidents.
