On April 1, the day the consumption tax rate increased from 5% to 8%, the Japanese Communist Party issued a statement in protest against the tax hike which will negatively impact people’s lives as well as Japan’s economy and state of finance.
Two former ministers appeared on Akahata Sunday edition and expressed their opposition to Prime Minister Abe Shinzo’s attempt to change constitutional interpretation in order to legalize Japan’s use of military forces abroad.
