Ex-advisor to Abe Cabinet lauds apartheid policy

A former member of an advisory body to the Abe Cabinet recently advocated the use of the South African infamous policy of apartheid, provoking harsh criticism from both inside and outside Japan.

Okinawa Governor Onaga Takeshi delivered a policy speech at the opening plenary session of the prefectural assembly, saying that he will make all-out efforts to fulfill his campaign promise to block the construction of a new U.S. base in Henoko.

Shii: Amount of overtime per worker in Japan 8 times more than in Netherlands

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo pointed out that Japanese workers work overtime eight times more than Netherlanders do, urging the government to tighten regulations on overtime.
