JCP Shii has talks with politburo member of CPV

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on May 17 held a talk with Vietnam-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association President To Huy Rua, politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, at the JCP headquarters.

Rua conveyed CPV Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong’s message to Shii and said, “We hope to further develop the long standing friendship between the JCP and the CPV.” Referring to the past 3 theoretical exchange meetings between the two parties which Rua had attended as the head of the CPV delegation, he added, “Cooperation with the JCP, which has a solid theoretical and practical understanding of modern capitalism, is not only important theoretically but useful to us in practice.”

Shii replied to Rua, “The theoretical exchange meetings provide an opportunity to further develop our theory.” Both sides agreed to continue to hold such meetings in the future.

The chair took up the need to strengthen the two parties’ cooperation for peace in Asia and the world. He explained the JCP’s plan to broaden the idea of “peaceful security” from the ASEAN region to northeastern Asia by working to have the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty abrogated.
