JCP chair talks with CPC International Dept deputy head

September 19, 2008
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on September 18 held talks with Liu Hongcai, deputy head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

Shii said that during the past 10 years after the normalization of JCP-CPC relations, the two parties’ efforts to further develop relations between the two countries in a forward-looking manner have helped promote their strategic, mutually beneficial ties.

When Chinese President Hu Jintao visited Japan in May, the two parties agreed to further contribute to advancing the Japan-China relation and establishing peace in Asia and the rest of the world. They also confirmed mutual cooperation as political parties aiming for socialism and communism.

Shii expressed hope that relations between the two parties be further developed in line with this JCP-CPC agreement.

Liu said he was pleased to see relations between the two parties developing in the past 10 years, in particular through bilateral theoretical exchanges. He also said he is looking forward to cooperation at such places as the International Conference of Asian Pacific Political Parties (ICAPP).
