Business leaders train new DPJ Dietmembers

November 14, 2009
The Democratic Party of Japan on November 13 held the first round of training seminars for its new members in the Diet with Inamori Kazuo, president emeritus of Kyocera Corporation, as an instructor, showing the close relationship between business circles and the DPJ.

Inamori is a financial heavyweight who played a key role in enabling the merger of the Liberal Party with the DPJ in 2003 when DPJ Secretary General Ozawa Ichiro was still the head of the LP.

During the seminar held in the Diet building, Ozawa highly praised Inamori, saying, “We owe him a great deal.”

The DPJ plans to have Suzuki Osamu, president of Suzuki Motor Corporation, as another instructor for the training seminars.
