JCP Shii meets with Chinese ambassador

February 7, 2014
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on February 5 had a talk with Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cheng Yonghua while having dinner at the Embassy of China in Tokyo.

They exchanged views on various issues including peace and security in Asia, economic situations, and historical issues.

Shii explained to Cheng the contents of the plan to create peace in northeast Asia which was proposed at the JCP 26th Congress last month. He said that based on the plan, the JCP will work to help achieve a peaceful and stable Asia through constructive dialogues with governments and political parties of the nations concerned.

Cheng in response expressed his opinion about the regional peace issue based on his past experience as ambassador to both Malaysia and South Korea.
