Okinawa Police arrest US servicemen for drunk driving

August 18 and 22, 2016
Last week, two U.S. servicemen in Okinawa were arrested for drunk driving.

Okinawa Police on August 17 arrested Scott Supranowicz, a 26-year-old U.S. Marine Corps sergeant based at Camp Schwab, for drunk driving. The police said that at 5 a.m. on the same day, police officers spotted the suspect’s car turning right at an intersection without using the turn signal. The police questioned the driver and found that alcohol on his breath was at a level twice higher than the legal limit.

On August 21, U.S. Senior Airman Rahkeem Fair, stationed at the Kadena base, was arrested by Okinawa Police while driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the police, at 1 a.m. on this day, the 23-year-old serviceman drove a car in Chatan Town after drinking. The alcohol level in his breath analysis exceeded the legal limit. The suspect admitted to the allegation of driving under the influence.
