JCP delegation visits Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

September 28 & 29, 2008
The Japanese Communist Party delegation visiting Vietnam for a theoretical discussion on September 26 met with Pham Quang Nghi, secretary of the Hanoi Committee and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The head of the JCP delegation Fuwa Tetsuzo, director of the JCP Social Sciences Institute, said he wishes Vietnam even greater success in its effort to advance to socialism through a market economy.

Nghi said the JCP-CPV theoretical discussion is a significant initiative that will help overcome difficulties that the socialism-oriented market economy is experiencing.

Fuwa in response said, “Successful theoretical exchanges will definitely contribute to achieving the goals of both parties.”

On the following day, the JCP delegation met with Le Hoang Quang, vice secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Committee of the CPV.

Fuwa praised the past heroic struggles waged by Ho Chi Minh City and other southern Vietnamese people for freedom and independence against the fierce U.S. onslaught as well as their present role in leading the country’s economic efforts under the Doi Moi policies.

Fuwa also said that Ho Chi Minh City and southern Vietnam will play a greater role in establishing the future Vietnam is working to create.

Quang said, “We will continue to make the effort to build a more civilized and socialistic city.”
