JCP candidates and young people discuss jobs and peace

In Tokyo on October 11, two Japanese Communist Party candidates for the House of Representatives discussed with young activists several election issues, including job scarcity and world peace.

This assembly was organized by the JCP Shibuya youth branch and the Democratic Youth League of Japan.

JCP candidates Imamura Jun'ichiro and Ozawa Tetsuo explained that the government last year gave Toyota Motor Co. a tax relief amounting to about 220 billion yen. They also stated that in Japan only 22 percent of tax revenue is used for social security in stark contrast with Germany's 65 percent and 45 percent in the U.S.

A 27-year-old woman said that her boyfriend who works as an engineer at a major manufacturer was forced to work overtime and suffered mental stress. She expressed her determination to send many JCP members to the Diet in the coming election in order to help bring young workers home earlier and increase job opportunities for unemployed people.
