JCP Central Committee Chair Shii Kazuo announced that he will not be running in the next general election, adding, “As the party’s CC chair, I will continue to devote all my energy to the advancement of the JCP in order to improve society.”

JCP Secretariat Head Koike Akira stated that the JCP will not be cooperating with the newly formed “Centrist Reform Alliance” in the upcoming general election, pointing out that the new party’s basic policies deem that the national security-related legislation is “constitutional”.
