Working conditions overall should be improved before accepting more foreign workers

The Abe government decided on a policy to promote the use of foreign workers. This policy may further worsen overall working conditions in Japan.

Limited use of right to collective self-defense will lead to unlimited use

The Abe government, by bringing up a 1959 Supreme Court precedent, has worked out a new logic that Japan can “limitedly” exercise the right to “minimum necessary” collective self-defense.

Interviews with four heads of Fukushima’s devastated towns

Akahata ran interviews with four mayors of the towns where all the residents have been evacuated since the Fukushima nuclear accident. All of the four now call for rebuilding their towns to be less dependent on nuclear power plants.
