Out of non-traffic Penal Code offenses in Japan involving U.S. military personnel, their family members, or U.S. civilian employees attached to the U.S. military, only 15.7% went to trial last year, while 84.3% were exempted from prosecution.
The Centrist Reform Alliance (CRA) has officially decided to dissolve. House of Representatives members who joined the CRA from the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDPJ) and the “Komeito” party will leave the CRA.
In the Okinawa gubernatorial election, Tamaki Denny put up a good fight but ultimately fell short of victory. The winner was Koja Genta who received full support from the Takaichi government and six political parties, including the Liberal Democratic Party.
