JCP chair criticizes Aso’s mid-term goal for Japan’s emissions cut

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo said, “Japan’s declaration of the new goal of an 8 percent cut is tantamount to declaring that it will do nothing by 2020. The only alternative should be for Japan to set the goal of a 30 percent cut by 2020 by firmly upholding the 1990 levels as its basis. The 30 percent cut is what the JCP has proposed.”

North Korea must listen to world opinion

North Korea should take international opinion seriously and not conduct any further nuclear tests and missile launches. It is essential for North Korea to immediately return to the Six-Party Talks without conditions and contribute to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and a peaceful solution to pressing issues.

The need now is to move away from postal privatization

Postal services are public assets that have increased in value over the years from people’s savings and insurances premiums as well as postage revenues. They have served o support local residents’ livelihoods. Now this has been made a prey to the for-profit corporations since the postal services were privatized.
