Lifting tariffs on 95% of items in TPP will impede Japan’s recovery from 3.11

The 9 countries participating in negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement are calling for a removal of tariffs on 90-95% of items right after the free-trade pact comes into effect, which will threaten Japan’s job security, its fisheries industry, and its ability to recover from the 3.11 disaster.

TEPCO plan to impose higher electricity rates is unjust

Tokyo Electric Power Co. Ltd. (TEPCO) plans to increase electricity rates by 17% on average for corporations and businesses from April and by 10% for households from July, making the public pay for its nuclear debacle.
