State of emergency will further push women non-regular workers into a corner

The latest state of emergency will further reduce customers and will cause more bankruptcies and business discontinuance. Women non-regular workers will particularly be hit by a further worsening of the employment situation.

JCP: Not fines but consent and grants are needed to fight COVID-19 pandemic

Currently, the government is discussing the possibility of including penal regulations in the special measures law to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. JCP Chair Shii on NHK's "Sunday Debate" said he is opposed to coronavirus-related punishment.

Shii comments on 2nd COVID state of emergency

Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide declared a month-long state of emergency in Tokyo and three neighboring prefectures (Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama) to tackle the latest surge in COVID-19 cases.
