2021 May Day rallies appeal for need to replace gov’t to protect lives and jobs during pandemic

On May 1, calling for realizing a change of government to protect lives and jobs during the ongoing pandemic, rallies commemorating the 92nd May Day took place at 16 locations across Japan in accordance with the COVID-19 rules set by the government.

States of emergency extended till May 31

The Suga government announced that states of emergency applied to four prefectures including Tokyo and Osaka, which are set to expire on May 11, will be extended until the end of this month, adding the prefectures of Aichi and Fukuoka from May 12.
