US Marine arrested for choking Japanese man |
The Okinawa prefectural police on July 6 arrested a U.S. Marine Corps private first class who is stationed at the USMC Camp Hansen for assaulting a stranger.
Gabriel Monize, 21, is suspected of strangling and injuring a 40-year-old Japanese man sitting in a car on a street in the city of Okinawa at around 12:10 a.m. on July 6.
The police said that when the Japanese man was in his parked car, Moniz suddenly got into the backseat and wrung the man’s neck from behind, and that the assailant refused to take an alcohol test.
